An addiction to gambling, what is it?

There are various ways that one can gamble nowadays, so much so that it can take over some peoples lives to the point of ignorance, ignorance in everything else in their lives until it’s too late. Gambling ruins families and ties with those closest to us. Although one might feel like a few harmless bets on a  fruit machine is nothing, to others they might continue to play this game until they are satisfied with what they’ve one. It can be incredibly difficult to convince a gambler that they have a problem and that they should seek help, which is why one should nip any addictive tendencies in the bud early.

Nowadays you can bet on anything and everything, and those who have gambling issues are often not as self-aware as they’d lead you to believe. Gambling issues can stem from some of the smallest forms of stimuli, it could be that you win a low amount on a scratch card, the next thing you know they have spent all of their money on a particular sport or game. Gamblers very rarely notice a problem until they have lost everything, this is why one should always retain some level of awareness with every decision they make surrounding money, especially if money is a valued commodity in their lives.

When does having a gambling addiction become a mental health issue?

Telling a gambler to quit is often met with anger and frustration, this is due to them feeling like they have un-finished business with a certain game or sport. These people will spend hours in betting shops and will only come home once they either run out of money or have a moment of clarity. Families and loved ones will often be the catalyst in one seeking professional help, as one will rarely look in the mirror and see an issue.

We are here to Help!

You will live a much happier life due to HMT. This is a tried and tested method of self-evaluation that is perfect for those that happen to be suffering from thoughts of gambling.
