What is Confrontation?
Confrontation is defined as a dispute between two parties that will often lead to bouts of aggression and violence if left unattended. Confrontation will often come about through an internal buildup of certain emotions — normally with the same person you are confronting. Aggression of this nature is often a very unhealthy form of mental discourse, that sees only to build anger issues within the individual.
There are scenarios where it might feel like confrontation is the only course of action to take, this can be a rather confusing time for someone as they don’t know what this confrontation will bring them, all that they think is that it will resolve whatever issues are plaguing them. No one knows what kind of reaction this will bring, or that it will actually help them, which is why it is arguably better for one to work through their gripes internally.
When does Confrontation become a mental issue?
Confrontation can manifest itself in various different ways, the most common cases ending in violence and violent behaviour such as shouting. Violence is never the right course of action no matter who you happen to be. Confrontation stems from our ever-looming need to exert built up aggression, aggression that is very rarely dealt with internally without the need for physical action. Those with violent tendencies are known to be shunned by certain members of society, which is why it is a bad course of action to deal with your aggression in this way.
Confrontation will always become a mental issue whenever the act of approaching someone takes place. It is important to understand that although confrontation is bad in a lot of instances, it can be a way of facing issues head on. This will always depend on the individual and how they process confrontation internally. Confrontation often appears from a lack of rationalising ones own feelings, which is why it is important to discover your own way of working through these issues before it reaches its breaking point.
