What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Many of you will have heard of cystic fibrosis, but many will not be able to comprehend the severity of this illness. Over 10,000 people in the UK alone suffer from this cystic fibrosis. This disease is a genetic condition that targets the movement of salt and water in our cells. You cannot catch cystic fibrosis, it is only found in your genes; you are born with cystic fibrosis and will live with it throughout your entire life. One in 25 of us carry these gene and will carry a variety of different symptoms.

The symptoms of cystic fibrosis attack various systems within ones own body. A build up of mucus in the lungs is just one example of the many symptoms here, the others targeting the digestive system and other various organs. Cystic fibrosis is a very serious condition, and the way that it should be dealt with should be met with the same level of severity.

When does Cystic Fibrosis become a mental issue?

Cystic fibrosis attacks at the very body of the individual, which can make life daily routine difficult if this is left to its own devices. Anxiety is the biggest mental issue that can spawn from cystic fibrosis. It can be difficult for one to find the energy to get up on a morning due to the severity of these symptoms. Cystic fibrosis is incurable which can make it very difficult to live with if left without an answer. Those suffering with cystic fibrosis will need to find a form of internal thought patterns in order to channel their pain in a way that doesn’t keep it from affecting their own lives.
