What is psychosis?
Psychosis can be described as an impaired relationship with reality as we know it. Psychosis can lead to varying visions/hallucinations that can cause one to disjoint themselves from their surroundings in certain instances. It can be easy for one to lose track of time as well as certain memories. This can be difficult to comprehend especially if these episodes appear from out of nowhere. Psychosis will often trigger at random moments, possibly when you least expect it. Separating one’s self from reality is a very difficult task to overcome, as you will often feel like the reality around you is the reality everyone else sees, this is not the case. Psychosis only appears in one mind, and what you see is controlled through the mind of that individual.
Psychosis related episodes will differ from person to person depending on the severity of their symptoms. Some might find that they suffer from a mild case of hallucinations, where they might see a slight warp to their own reality. A more severe variation of psychosis would be a complete breakdown in their overall surroundings, leading to a varying degree of different dissociative disorders.
When does psychosis become a mental health issue?
It is important to note that these types of mental patterns are quite normal in todays society. It is only when one loses track of reality on a grand scale, that one should begin to create a cause for concern. It can be difficult to traverse ones own mind in a way that causes you to be more attentive (especially when you consider how reality-bending certain bouts of psychosis can be). You might have gone your entire life without having to worry about these issues until it actually happens. Think that there is no way out? See below for a potential way out of your troubles.
