A stroke occurs whenever the oxygen from ones own brain is cut off, thus causing the body to convulse in a way that can cause serious damage to the body of the individual. Blood is transported through the body carrying certain nutrients that are required for healthy living. Blood also carries oxygen to the brain, so any cut off of oxygen in the body is never a good thing. The effects of a stroke can manifest itself in a variety of different ways depending on the individual and the severity of their stroke. A stoke can affect the way your body works as well as how you think, communicate and feel.
As we grow older, the likelihood of a stroke increases due to our diminishing ability to fend off certain illnesses and disease. The immune system will always slow down as we grow older, thus making us more susceptible to certain ailments such as a stroke. There are various different types of strokes that one can have. Some will find that the effects of a stroke are only temporary, whereas others might have a longer time to recover. Strokes can and will kill if they happen to be that severe. It is estimated that around one in eight people die within a month of having a stroke, making it incredible worrisome to anyone who happens to be going through a stroke.
